The Learning Series at Rathcoffey Zero Waste Community Garden September 2020
I have just started teaching a series of seasonal sessions at the Rathcoffey Zero Waste Community garden for an adult group, made up of a mixture of gardeners involved in the garden itself and members of the wider community.
Today we focused on a broad introduction to the importance of local food growing and incorporating biodiversity and native habitats into a garden space. We looked at native hedgerows and tree species and did a little introduction to plant identification. Next time we are going to look at the vegetable families and what we can grow in Ireland.
