Castletown House Forest School After School Programme – Winter 2021

I am delighted to say I am running two afternoons here in Castletown House this winter term 2021. We are doing a programme on TUESDAYS and WEDNESDAY afternoons from 3.00pm-5.00pm starting on Tuesday 2nd November and Wednesday 3rd November 2021 for 7-weeks up to the mid-term break.

NB: THIS WINTER TERM This term the light starts to fade, so we make sure we have hi viz vests and head torches, we have the base camp set up with lamps and do rope walks out to meet the parents at the end of the sessions. So, just to be aware these sessions end in darkness, which the children have really enjoyed in the past, we do lots of stories and make hot chocolate to enjoy the winter arriving.

There will be places for 15 children only on the programme aged from 5 to 11 years old (I cannot take 4 years old’s due to insurance constraints).

We will be offering weekly sessions of time in nature, play, woodland crafts, den building, rope work, nature crafts, mud area, all to facilitate getting kids back to nature, in all weathers. Forest School is not a bushcraft club or a directed programme of activities, it is very child led, and allows the children explore their own interests.

It will run once a week, on Tuesdays and Wednesday afternoons, from 3.00pm – 5.00pm, in the woods beside Castletown House.

Dates: Winter term will run for 7 weeks from:

Tuesday group: Tuesday 2nd November, 9th November, 16th November, 23rd November, 30th November, 7th December, 14th December 2021.

Wednesday group: Wednesday 3rd November, 10th November, 17th November, 24th November, 1st December, 8th December, 15th December. 2021.

Both days will runup to mid-term. There will be another term after mid-term that will run for 7 weeks and take us up to the Christmas break.

COST: €140 for the 7-week programme, it can only be booked as a full programme, not as individual sessions.
